• 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, or more to taste
  • 3 Tbsp. fat-free chicken broth
  • 3 cups cooked fat-free refried beans
  • 4 oz. can green chilies, chopped
  • 2 cups fat-free mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1 cup fat-free cheddar cheese, grated
  • 16 oz. jar taco sauce
  • 1 cup fat-free sour cream


  1. Preheat oven to 400ºF.
  2. Sauté diced onion and garlic in chicken broth.
  3. Stir in refried beans.
  4. Spread into a 9 x 13 inch casserole dish.
  5. Sprinkle green chilies over top of bean mixture.
  6. Spread half of cheese over this.
  7. Pour taco sauce over cheese.
  8. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top and bake for 20-25 mins.
  9. Cool slightly and spoon sour cream to make a cross on top of casserole.
  10. Serve with fat-free tortilla chips or other dippables.
