New parking options for cancer center patients and visitors

(SACRAMENTO)

UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center patients will have access to free valet parking, starting Monday, June 13, 2022. The valet parking service will give patients direct access to the cancer center during construction of UC Davis Health’s new California Tower, located across the street.

When completed, the new hospital complex will expand patient care, research, community health and education. It will include a 14-story hospital and a 5-story pavilion adjacent to the cancer center, providing state-of-the-art care for cancer patients and other patients at UC Davis Medical Center.

“While a tremendously exciting project, traffic and parking will be impacted during construction,” said UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center Physician-in-Chief Richard Bold. “The patient parking lot to the north of the cancer center will not be accessible and valet parking will be the easiest and closest option for patients.”

Patients using valet parking or being dropped off will need to drive around to the north side of the cancer center via 45th Street. Signs will indicate where to pull vehicles over for patient drop-off or vehicle hand-off to valets.

As an alternative, visitors can park in the main medical center parking structure #3. A map available on the cancer center’s new parking and construction information web page provides the walking route from the parking structure, which is approximately two blocks away.  All pedestrians will need to use the X Street sidewalk from 48th Street to 45th Street.
