Without telemedicine, Bobbi Hooks would have to drive her grandson Maurice, who has cerebral palsy, three hours to UC Davis for the regular neurology care he needs to control his seizures.

The Pediatric Outpatient Telemedicine Program enables children living in remote communities to visit our pediatric subspecialists at the UC Davis Children’s Hospital without having to travel to Sacramento.

To date, UC Davis Children’s Hospital has provided more than 5,500 consultations to children living in remote locations using telemedicine. We provide expert consultations in more than 20 different specialties, including pediatric endocrinology, cardiology, psychiatry, infectious diseases, gastroenterology, nephrology, neurology, hematology, oncology, as well as general pediatrics, nutrition, otolaryngology, and burn surgery.
