As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to disproportionately affect African American and Black populations, UC Davis Health and a local social justice organization will host a free webinar via Zoom to discuss the effects of COVID-19 on these communities and offer strategies and solutions to help.

The event will be held Tuesday, Jan. 11 from 6-7 p.m. Those interested in attending must register in advance.

UC Davis Health pediatrician Michael Lucien will present evidence-based, up-to-date and accessible information about the current state of the pandemic and discuss vaccines, boosters and other strategies against COVID-19.

The other presenter is the Sacramento Area Youth Speaks (SAYS) associate director Denisha “Coco” Bland

A Q&A session with Lucien and Bland will follow their presentation.

The event is part of a webinar series called “Parenting in a Pandemic.” It is coordinated by the IDEA Center of the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Healthy Yolo Together initiative.
