Course # DAHS-NGNELNECCCHCP22-ANCC
Capacity: 40

Course description

Nurses spend more time with patients who are facing the end of life than any other member of the health care team. Yet studies have shown that many nurses feel inadequately prepared to provide the comprehensive care so important at the end of life. This course will include lecture, case studies and interactivity covering pain and symptom management, ethical issues in palliative care nursing, culturally/spiritual aspects, communication, loss, grief, and bereavement, care at the final hours, and self-care techniques. This course was developed for nurses who work in intensive care, coronary care, burn and dialysis units, emergency departments, and other clinical areas encompassing critical care for the adult population.
