Course description

With a focus on prevention, the nonviolent crisis intervention training program equips staff and health-care providers with proven strategies for safely defusing anxious, hostile, or violent behavior at the earliest possible stage. This class will incorporate lecture and role play.

Target audience

  • This class is required annually for UC Davis Health mental health workers and lift team members who have previously received certification in CPI at UC Davis.
  • This class is optional for other staff who have previously received certification in CPI at UC Davis and would like a refresher.

Prerequisites and preparation

Participants are required to have completed an initial UC Davis Health Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Course.


Please dress in hospital scrubs or clinical work attire as participants will work hands-on.

C.E. contact hours

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 3.75 contact hours.

Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than 5 minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.
