Oncology Series: Overview of Radiation Oncology and Management of Toxicities

This class will be held virtually.
This presentation will provide an overview of Radiation Oncology treatments ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations, including treatment modalities, encompassing external beam, brachytherapy and gamma knife. In addition, a discussion of radiation toxicities, and introduction to the interdisciplinary teams, which are involved in the care and delivery of Radiation Therapy. Nurses and medical staff will gain an overview of Radiation Oncology that can be applied to their clinical practice and interventions, while caring for patients undergoing Radiation Therapy.
Virtual session requirements
Follow the virtual participation guidelines, including being on camera, engaging in activities, and attesting to participation.
C.E. contact hours
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 1.5 contact hours.
Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than 5 minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.
