Course description

This workshop will demonstrate the use of Reiki as a technique for relaxation, stress reduction and pain management. Reiki, Level I trains participants to use Reiki as a form of self-care on themselves and family members. This course is a prerequisite to Reiki, Level II where participants learn how to use Reiki with patients.

Target audience

This class is intended for health-care providers and employees of UC Davis Health. Parents of UC Davis Children's Hospital patients are also encouraged to attend.

Course materials

Please bring a yoga/backpacking mat to lie down on if you have one.

Class attendance

Be courteous and on time. It is disruptive to other students and instructors and difficult for late students to catch up once the class starts. Students are expected to attend and participate in the entire course. You will not be allowed to attend the class if you are 20 minutes or later.

C.E. contact hours

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 26, for 3.58 contact hours.

Attendees will not receive C.E. credit if they are more than 20 minutes late; no partial credit can be awarded.

UC Davis employees

$25 registration deposit. Registration deposit is returned upon completion of class. Cancellation must be requested five days prior to class date to receive deposit refund.

Community registrants

$40 registration fee. Cancellation must be requested five days prior to class date to receive a full refund. A $25 service fee will be charged after this date.

Parking

Employee parking is available in parking structure 4, lots 12, 17 and 18 with either a B permit or daily permit. Employee daily permits are available for purchase with the ParkMobile app using zone number 42201. Visitor daily permits can be purchased from the dispenser in lot 25 for $6 or from the Flowbird App and can be used in lots 22, 25, 30, Broadway and EDD.
