Congratulations! Both UC Davis & UC Davis Health have been recognized by Forbes yet again as one of the best employers for diversity in 2021. This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication our staff puts in to creating a workplace that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive of all people.
In 2020, UC Davis Health ranked #101 amongst a list of 500 employers throughout the nation. This year our rank increased to #59, well ahead of Kaiser, which was the only other healthcare organization in California to make the list. Our improved ranking showcases that the efforts we’re making to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our organization is working.

While we celebrate this accomplishment, let’s also remember there is always more work to be done. We are proud of the awards we receive, but we advance diversity, equity, and inclusion first and foremost because it is core to our mission as an employer of choice and an anchor institution. Along with understanding that a diverse workforce improves health outcomes for our patients, enhances our innovation, and positively impacts the day-to-day operations of our hospital, it is important for us to acknowledge that inclusion is the crucial connector between our diverse talent, staff experience and continued business growth. Continuing our efforts on creating an inclusive workplace culture thus, becomes both a leadership and business imperative.
Join me in celebrating our accomplishments and working together to cultivate inclusive excellence at UC Davis Health.
