Leadership Development Opportunities
Our leadership development workshops provide opportunities for faculty to develop and enhance their leadership skills, gain insights from accomplished leaders and engage with each other outside of their usual work environments. Workshop participants will attain knowledge, skills, and abilities that will enhance their individual and organizational performance. The interactive sessions use didactic and applied methods to provide practical examples and applications of core leadership competencies. These workshops also provide opportunities for peer interaction across schools and departments.

Advanced Leadership Development Program (ALDP)
The Advanced Leadership Development Program (ALDP) program was created for mid-level leaders in UC Davis Health who want to develop their leadership abilities to the greatest extent possible.
"Discussion of real-world case studies with other leaders who are serious about their craft, spiced up and put into context by Gene Crumley’s wise comments and encyclopedic knowledge of the leadership literature, was a delight and highly informative."
- Ramsey D. Badawi, Ph.D.
2018 ALDP Pilot Cohort
The program is specifically designed for faculty members who currently serve in a variety of roles, including division chief, associate director, vice chair, residency or fellowship director, principal investigator with laboratory management responsibilities, or other similar leadership roles.
The ALDP is based upon a participant-led, interactive cohort model. Learning takes place through a mutually supportive group of 15 peers exploring their lived experiences as leaders.
Sessions are held one afternoon per month, January through December, taking the months of July and August off.
A call for applications is sent out in August of each year. The application period for the 2019 cohort has ended.
