Jennifer Plant appointed new division chief of the UC Davis Pediatric and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit

Jennifer Plant has been appointed the new division chief of the Pediatric and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PICU/PCICU) at UC Davis Children’s Hospital.

Plant joined the UC Davis Department of Pediatrics in October 2010 and has been a PICU/PCICU physician at UC Davis Children's Hospital.

“She has demonstrated exceptional ability and accomplishment as a physician, who is excelling in her roles as a bedside clinician, a teacher and administrative leader.  We look forward to the future with Dr. Plant in this role as PICU Chief,” said Satyan Lakshminrusimha, chair of the UC Davis Department of Pediatrics and pediatrician-in-chief of UC Davis Children's Hospital. “I’d also like to recognize Dr. Jim Marcin for the time and energy spent in his role as division chief of pediatric critical care. He’s left some big shoes to fill and we know that Dr. Plant is up for the task.”

Plant received her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in 2003. She completed residency training in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital and Research Center in Oakland. She completed her fellowship training in pediatric critical care at UC San Francisco and Children’s Hospital and Research Center in Oakland. Plant also has her master’s degree in medical education from the University of Cincinnati.
