Shaikh to serve on American Academy of Pediatrics' Council on Quality Improvement and Patient Safety

Ulfat Shaikh, professor of pediatrics and director of healthcare quality at UC Davis School of Medicine, has been elected to serve on the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)’s  Executive Committee of the Council on Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (COQIPS).

The Executive Committee of the Council on Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (COQIPS) is focused on innovations and activities supporting the integration of policy and practice, education, advocacy, and implementation around the topic areas of quality improvement and patient safety.

"In this role, I look forward to informing the quality and patient safety agenda of the AAP, an organization of over 67,000 pediatricians committed to the optimal physical, mental and social health and well-being for infants, children, adolescents and young adults," Shaikh said. 

Shaikh's term begins in July and will last for three years.
