KVIE to feature UC Davis Health telehealth in new documentary

(SACRAMENTO)

UC Davis Health’s pioneering work in telehealth, and its exponential increase in use during the pandemic, will be in the spotlight early next month on KVIE-TV. The local PBS affiliate has produced a documentary about telehealth that features several UC Davis experts.

The Viewfinder episode titled “Healing from Home – Telehealth” explores how the current pandemic accelerated the importance and use of telemedicine for patients seeking health care and for medical experts working with colleagues. Longtime telehealth experts from UC Davis Health who are featured in the broadcast include Peter Yellowlees, Misty Humphries, James Marcin, and Kristin Hoffman.

A live panel discussion, which includes Yellowlees, will follow the screening to further explore the topic with health providers and patients, in which they will share their stories and experiences using telehealth.

The “virtual screening” and online panel discussion take place on Tues., June 1, at 6 p.m. Interested viewers can register here.

“Healing from Home – Telehealth” is scheduled to air on KVIE for the first time on Wed., June 2, at 7:30 p.m.
