A veteran nurse of more than 30 years, UC Davis Health’s Cindy Steele has a wealth of stories and memories. Early in her career, as a nurse in the adolescent unit of the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, she learned some valuable lessons about asking teens directly about their disease as a way to gain a better understanding. And, of course, she also experienced many instances of teenagers being… well, teenagers.
