In a detailed personal essay, Marilyn Stebbins, PharmD, a UC San Francisco School of Pharmacy faculty member, shared her first-hand experience as a COVID-19 patient – from the earliest symptoms to her eventual recovery and precautionary self-isolation.

A health care provider herself, Stebbins provided insights on her progression through the health care system. Stebbins, a Davis resident, had nothing but praise and gratitude for the care she received at UC Davis Medical Center.
“The team that cared for me – the nurses, physicians, pharmacists, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, dieticians as well as the housekeeping staff – at UC Davis Medical Center was nothing short of amazing,” Stebbins wrote. “I never felt shunned or avoided. I always felt my health and recovery were their paramount concerns.”
