Expanding physical medicine and rehabilitation capabilities

Two recent project completions highlight UC Davis Health’s expanding ability to better serve patients seeking physical medicine treatments and rehabilitation services in the Sacramento region.

A 2,000-square-foot small tenant improvement project at the Elk Grove Clinic will expand patient access and improve Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation’s abilities to serve residents in that community. The new therapy area includes a state-of-the-art gym and therapy equipment along with patient consulting services and additional care provider space. The clinic is located at 8110 Laguna Boulevard in Elk Grove.

A new 1,000 square-foot annex located adjacent to the Point West Specialty Clinic in Sacramento relocates the existing Orthotics and Prosthetics Lab from the first floor of the Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) to support the Eye Center Project, which is currently in construction. This new Orthotics and Prosthetics site offers leading-edge fabrication equipment to improve patient therapy outcomes and will help better provide orthotics and prosthetic services throughout UC Davis Health, while also ensuring the Orthotics program has a long-term home. The initial plan was for this office was to be located in the clinic building, but much needed imaging services were added into the Point West interior footprint. The design-build team came up with a cost-effective modular solution within the approved budget, and came in under budget overall. The Point West Specialty Clinic is located at 1535 River Park Drive.
