Make the Clean Air Pledge

Wednesday, October 6 is the fourth annual California Clean Air Day, which is built on the idea that shared experiences unite people to take action to improve our community health. To celebrate this day, individuals and organizations are urged to make a Clean Air Pledge – a commitment to do their part to clear the air, through actions big and small.

As part of this effort, UC Davis Health has joined hundreds of companies in making an organizational pledge. Employees are encouraged to log on and make a pledge as well. Here are a number of other individual actions you can take to clean the air. Additionally, consider taking SacRT to work; from Monday, September 13 through Sunday, September 19, UC Davis Health employees can ride SacRT’s buses and trains for free by simply showing their ID badges. And if you need to travel between the Sacramento and Davis campuses, the Causeway Connection intracampus shuttle is a convenient, free and sustainable option.

Finally, if you are physically reporting to the Sacramento campus on October 6, here are some alternatives to driving to work:

  • Telecommute
  • Walk, bike or ride a scooter
  • Take public transit
  • Carpool
