UC Davis Health works to create world-class health care for older adults and their caregivers.

With people ages 65 and older the largest growing segment of the population, UC Davis Health is committed to promoting healthy aging through an integrated approach across the lifespan and all care settings. The new Healthy Aging Initiative focuses on age-friendly care and services that increase access to health care, improve quality of life and decrease the complexities of navigating the health care system.

Part of the initiative is the development of a new clinic in midtown Sacramento, a one-stop location where older adults can receive care from a number of geriatric specialists, including physicians, advanced practice providers, physical therapists, pharmacists, case managers and cognitive specialists. Providers recognize older-adult family caregivers play a critical role in the health care team.

Terri Harvath, director for the Family Caregiving Institute at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis, takes us on a tour with a first-look at what will be the new Healthy Aging Clinic at UC Davis Health.
