The partnership between Adventist Health Lodi Memorial and UC Davis Health continues to flourish, as Adventist Health Lodi Memorial has announced a milestone this week: Its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nursery has received a level II NICU designation.
The NICU at Adventist Health Lodi Memorial received licensing by the California Department of Health (CDPH), following an in-depth site visit by CDPH on Wednesday.
The level II designation indicates that a facility can provide care to infants who are moderately ill with problems that are expected to resolve rapidly, or who are recovering from serious illness treated in a level III NICU.
The NICU at Adventist Health Lodi Memorial is staffed by a team of specialists from UC Davis Health and Adventist Health Lodi Memorial. The special care nursery is equipped with the most current technology and equipment to best serve neonatal patients, allowing the hospital to keep local families together and greatly reducing the need for infant transfers.
Since July 1, 2018, UC Davis Health has collaborated with Adventist Health Lodi Memorial in offering an expanded array of pediatric inpatient and outpatient services for Adventist Health Lodi Memorial’s NICU, labor and delivery, emergency room and general inpatient services. UC Davis Health’s pediatric hospitalists are on site in Lodi for consultation and care of pediatric patients in the emergency department and to care for patients admitted for inpatient services.
