Introducing the Ellucid Policy Manager

Next month, UC Davis Health will launch a new policy management tool called Ellucid. The tool, which was adopted by the Davis campus in 2017, will improve search functionality and streamline access to policies and supporting documents for all users. For employees with policy administration responsibilities, Ellucid offers automated policy access, review and approval and features tracking and reporting capabilities that ensure audit and accreditation compliance.

Existing policies will migrate to the platform in a staged manner; Patient Care Standards will be available via Ellucid on March 5. Administrative hospital policies and departmental policies will follow.  Users can continue to find policies by typing "policies" into the URL of any internal computers.
A new desktop icon will be available linking directly to the Ellucid platform on March 5. No login is needed on shared computers to access generic user features. Individuals can access customizable features such as favorites, recently searched, and additional functionality by logging in via their desktop or smart phone. Desktop login on individual internal devices automatically logs the user into their customized access. Smart device or offsite login requires Citrix login to access.

Down the road, more features will be added including StayAlert! This is a regulatory notification service provides notifications of changes in regulations and an interpretation of those changes. In addition, customizable policies, procedures, forms, and tools are provided to help meet the new regulations.

Users can elect to receive email alerts from the following entities:
• Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality
• Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
• Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
• Department of Health and Human Services
