Needham elected to board of NATCO, national organization of transplant professionals

With more than 20 years in the field of transplantation and experience planning the annual meeting of NATCO (The Organization for Transplant Professionals), UC Davis Health’s Annette Needham was recently elected to the Board of Directors for that national organization.

Needham begins her two-year term as Councilor-at-Large in August. Needham begins her two-year term as Councilor-at-Large in August.

Needham, the heart transplant NP coordinator, includes kidney, pancreas, liver, living donor, heart, and transplant management in her wide range of career experience. She also has worked to promote the professional development of NATCO’s Transplant Coordinators by creating a partnership with UC Davis Health and NATCO to bring the CCTC Review Course to the West Coast.

Melissa Bein, executive director of the UC Davis Health Transplant Center, said that she is proud but not surprised that Needham will be contributing her skills and expertise on a broader scale.

“I am thrilled Annette will be representing UC Davis Transplant Center on a national level,” Bein said. “Annette will do a great job in this role – as she does in every role in which she serves.”

Needham’s two-year term begins in August. In her capacity as Councilor-at-Large on NATCO’s board, Needham hopes to expand the organization’s education and certification programs and improve member recruitment.

“Over the years, I have seen the organization develop into the great community that it is today, and I look forward to being a part of that continued growth,” she said.
