Joint Commission Survey 2022: Day 4 Recap

(SACRAMENTO)

The Joint Commission surveyors visited additional community clinics and areas of the Medical Center on Thursday. They said it has been a wonderful experience interacting with our employees, who are engaged and passionate. They also stated how well-prepared they believed the health system is for any future health emergencies or crises.

On Thursday, the surveyors held the Emergency Management session and continued to review medical records, human resources documentation, medical staff governance documents, credentialing files, and visited the following areas:

  • In the Medical Center: Acute Care Therapy and Rehabilitation, Interventional Radiology, Davis 14, and multiple locations in the University Tower for Life Safety and Environment of Care
  • In Ambulatory Care: Behavioral Health Center, Ellison Ambulatory Care Center, Glassrock, and MIND Institute

In addition, the Home Care Services, Hospice, Palliative Care, and Home Infusion Therapy Programs continued with their survey process as well.  Friday is the last day of the triennial survey. The surveyors will share any findings, as well as best practices, with health system leadership in the morning and their visit should be complete by noon.

Thank you for your continued efforts during this time. We understand the Joint Commission’s visit can be challenging and we appreciate all that you are doing to ensure we respond to any requests, while also continuing to provide exceptional patient care.
