Key services moving to Health Administrative Services building in Rancho Cordova

(SACRAMENTO)

Beginning on Monday, March 27, some departments from the Sacramento campus will begin moving in a phased approach to the new Health Administrative Services (HAS) building in Rancho Cordova. The moves will continue through May.

The HAS building is UC Davis Health’s regional administrative hub – truly an “office of the future.” This location will provide a new way of working – the open floor concept provides innovative ways to meet and collaborate – with numerous modern amenities, including small, medium, and large conference rooms. The building offers 200,000 square feet of administrative space that will house some functions of Revenue, Finance, Purchasing, Strategy and Growth, Human Resources, Ambulatory Operations, Managed Care UM and Innovation Technology.

Some of the department functions moving to the HAS building are services that have been accessed by staff and providers at different locations across the Sacramento campus and at the Alhambra Cannery. A goal of this move, in addition to the added benefit of opening up much needed parking on the Sacramento campus, is to create a “one-stop shop” for some key UC Davis Health administrative services by conveniently locating them in one building so employees can collaborate easily and new employees can go one place instead of several.

UC Davis Health functions that will be located at the new location include IT support (laptop, cell phone, remote work hardware deployment and badging), payroll, finance, purchasing, and HR. For people on the Sacramento campus, the IT walk-up window available in the Administrative Services Building (ASB) will continue to provide the same IT help and services as it has historically offered.

While some staff will need to travel to the HAS building for services previously handled in different locations on the Sacramento campus and at the Alhambra Cannery, the drive to this one-stop location is about 15 minutes right off Highway 50 at the Zinfandel Drive exit. The address is 10850 White Rock Road, Rancho Cordova. The building includes more than 900 free parking spaces and can be reached using Regional Transit for people who prefer not to drive.

The first division to move will be IT, which will begin its transition to the Health Administrative Services building the week of March 27. As services are up and running in the new building, communication will be provided on The Insider, InsideOut and in the Wednesday and Friday Updates.
