Roe v. Wade: A Dialogue for Reproductive Justice

(SACRAMENTO)

Join a teach-in session with community panelists about the current state of affairs regarding Roe v. Wade and Dobbs v. Jackson today (May 19) at 5 p.m.

There are increasing barriers, a decrease of access to abortion care and a recently leaked draft from the Supreme Court implies that Roe v. Wade will be overturned. For inquiring minds, an introductory one-hour, panel-led dialogue on Roe v. Wade, Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health, and the implications of those future decisions on medical care for patients, providers, legality, and the political sphere has been organized.

The panel will be followed by 30 minutes of Q&A and an optional community healing circle.

This is a hybrid event. All panelists will be in person along with limited (first come, first serve) in-person attendees in the Medical Education Building, Room 2222. Masks are required for in-person attendance.

Panelists include:

  • Mika Godzich, M.D., M.S., as the moderator

  • Juliana Melo, M.D., M.S.C.S, as an abortion provider panelist. She is a part of the Family Planning Department and involved in reproductive justice advocacy.
