The screening is hosted by the Kyle J. Taylor Foundation (KJTF), in collaboration with UC Davis Health and Project ADAM Sacramento. The screening includes a cardiac risk assessment, an electrocardiogram (EKG) and physician review. The KTJF will provide the EKGs and equipment for screening the community, with assistance from UC Davis Health medical volunteers.

The event aims to prevent sudden cardiac arrest risk in children and young adults. Annual physical examinations and sports pre-participation physical exams can miss about 85 to 90% of issues that can cause sudden cardiac arrest in youth.

Volunteers and participants will be required to wear masks indoors. N95 masks will be available to volunteers on site.

Medical volunteers will:

  • Take vitals and review family history
  • Perform EKGs and ECHOs
  • Demonstrate hands-only CPR
  • Physician volunteers will review EKG results

General volunteers will:

  • Assist with set up/take down
  • Check in and check out participants
  • Assist with laptops
  • Greet the public and keep people moving through

Register to volunteer.
