Elissa Roeser

Elissa Roeser is the Assistant Dean, Chief of Staff in the School of Medicine (SOM), Office of the Dean. In her role, Roeser serves as a strategic and business planning partner to the dean, provides guidance and oversight to high-priority leadership initiatives, and leads the core administrative team in the dean’s office. She is also dedicated to fostering a culture based on SOM’s core values, and advancing a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment throughout SOM.

Prior to joining UC Davis, Roeser spent 18 years at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) working in the School of Medicine (SOM) including roles within the Division of General Internal Medicine, the Lung Biology Center, the Department of Medicine at Zuckerberg San Francisco General, the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy, and Sleep Medicine, and the Dean’s Office.

Throughout her career at UCSF, Roeser’s experience centered on the financial and administrative leadership of clinical, research and educational programs. In her most recent role as Director of Administrative Services, Roeser acted as a key advisor for policy, personnel, and strategic initiatives and helped guide many highly complex and critical projects requiring collaboration across SOM and the UCSF campus.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology from Stanford University, and her Master's of Business Administration from San Francisco State University.
