Dr. Chan is a neuropsychologist who offers comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations through the Neuroscience Clinic at UC Davis. This clinic evaluates patients with a wide variety of neurological illnesses and injury, the most common of which include: brain tumor, stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and various forms of dementia.
Dr. Chan also works closely with the UC Davis Comprehensive Epilepsy Program and the UC Davis Deep Brain Stimulation Program, and participates in the pre- and post-surgical neuropsychological evaluations of patients undergoing surgery for epilepsy and various movement disorders.
Dr. Chan also regularly conducts Wadas and intra-operative/extra-operative language mapping.
Dr. Chan's primary research interests are in multidimensional behavioral interventions that promote effective everyday functioning in older adults, as well as identification of sensitive and culturally appropriate tools for early detection of cognitive decline among minority groups.
