California residents who don't have access to health insurance through their employer or another government program may be eligible to purchase health coverage from the state’s Covered California health benefits exchange.

Covered California is a health-insurance marketplace created through the federal Affordable Care Act. Covered California includes health plans that allow you to choose a UC Davis physician for your primary care.

In Sacramento, Yolo, Placer and El Dorado counties (Covered California’s Region 3), UC Davis primary care physicians and specialty care services are available to you in 2022 through the following individual and family health plans available for purchase through Covered California:

  • Blue Shield PPO
  • Health Net PPO

For more information about the plans, deadlines and the health-benefits exchange, visit Covered California at or call 800-300-1506.

To learn more about choosing a UC Davis physician, please call UC Davis Health’s Consumer Resource Center at 800-2-UCDAVIS (800-282-3284).
