Dr. Abbeduto’s research is focused on understanding and developing methods for assessing and treating language problems in individuals with fragile X syndrome, autism, Down syndrome, and other neurodevelopmental disorders. He also conducts research on family well-being and the use of technology in delivering behavioral treatments. Dr. Abbeduto also is director of the MIND Institute. More information »

Dr. Simon’s research is focused on understanding the neural basis of cognitive impairments associated with genetic disorders that produce intellectual disability and psychopathology, including 22q11.2Deletiom Syndrome and fragile X syndrome.  He also is focused on the development of interventions to reduce the impact of these impairments on daily functioning. Dr. Van de Water’s research is focused on identifying the mechanisms associated with autoimmune and other immune-mediated disorders, including the contributions of immune dysfunction to autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
