The CoCoA Study is not currently recruiting. Enrollment for Phase 3 of the CoCoA Study will begin in the Spring of 2020 (see details below). In the meantime, sign up for our Research Volunteer Registry for studies that are recruiting now.
Cognitive Control in Autism (CoCoA) Study
Through the CoCoA study, we hope to gain a better understanding of cognitive functioning during a particularly important time in an individual’s life – the time between adolescence and the transition to adulthood. We are interested in learning more about the brain functioning and behavior of adolescents and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) when they think and learn.
What does participation involve?
The CoCoA Study is a longitudinal study that takes place over five (5) years. An initial cohort of participants will visit the UC Davis MIND Institute and the UC Davis Imaging Research Center (IRC) for multiple visits over a 5 year period for 2-3 hours. Additionally, 30 new participants ages 12 - 15 will be recruited in year 5 (Spring 2020) and complete a set of visits.
We are recruiting both boys and girls between the ages of 12-27:
1. Have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, or
2. PDD-NOS, or
3. Are typically developing
What else can I expect?
1. An image of your child’s brain
2. A brief letter that includes behavioral and related assessment results, including an IQ assessment
3. $100 gift card per visit
