Lorna Ringwood earned her PhD in Molecular Biology and Immunology at Virginia Tech in 2011 studying a mechanism to distinguish between acute and chronic inflammation. She then spent two years as a post-doctoral research fellow in the Cardiology Division of the Department of Internal Medicine at UC Davis examining the role of heat shock protein 60 in inflammation and cardiovascular disease. In 2014 Lorna transitioned to the Center for Musculoskeletal Health. Since joining CMH Lorna has focused on the role of aging and glucocorticoids in bone growth and turnover, and recently started working with the CMH clinical trials group.
