Autonomous Practice
Primary Nursing Practice is autonomous, evidence-based, and collaborative. One of the four elements that comprise Primary Nursing is leadership. Primary Nurses at UC Davis are bedside leaders that have taken responsibility for their own professional growth and development that foster an environment of professionalism and competency. Registered nurses model professional responsibility. They promote collaboration with all health care disciplines, allowing professional nurse autonomy to exercise clinical judgment within the interdependent health-care team and within the scope of professional nursing practice.
