Heather M. Young Postdoctoral Fellow
Specialty: Care systems and older adults

Tina Kilaberia is an inaugural Heather M. Young Postdoctoral Fellow at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis.  Kilaberia conducts research related to systems of care and older adults under the guidance of Associate Dean for Research Janice Bell. Kilaberia's research focuses on the role of organizational contexts in delivering care to older adults in residential settings.

Prior to joining the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing, Kilaberia was a research associate at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Department of Family Social Science working in the area of systems response to elder financial exploitation. In this role, Kilaberia looked at the help-seeking experiences of family members in whose families seniors were financially exploited by other family members.

Kilaberia earned a doctoral degree in social work with a minor in gerontology from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, where she also completed a master’s degree in social work with a focus on macropractice and organizations. As part of her educational and doctoral dissertation experience, Kilaberia lived in a large, urban residential senior housing community for nearly eight years.
