clasped handsVolunteer Chaplains are an valued resource to the Clinical Pastoral Services Department and the UC Davis Health System. Our volunteers provide services to patients and staff of the UC Davis Medical Center through patient visits, ceremonies, and rituals for all faith communities.

Volunteer Chaplains are a welcome partnership of in this transformative ministry. There are hundreds of people of faith on any given day at the hospital who are going through major life changes; many are lonely, and many are looking to connect with their faith and with God. We greatly welcome and appreciate the participation of volunteers who would be able to offer a companioning and compassionate presence for our sisters and brothers who are sick. We believe that this ministry has the potential to bear rich fruits not only for the patients, but also for the Volunteer Chaplains who journey with them.
