Callistus (Cally) Ojike is a Roman Catholic priest, with over twelve years of pastoral experience in Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Germany, and US. He holds master’s degrees in Bioethics and Health Law from Pennsylvania State University, and Theology from the Pontifical Urban University, Rome. He holds law degree from Nigeria.

For Cally, the CPE program is a call within a call. He is highly motivated to serve patients in this multi-faith environment with highly experienced educators and the interdisciplinary team at UC Davis Health.

Eliana-Plimpton

Chaplain Eliana Plimpton

Mrs. Eliana Plimpton was born and raised in Lima, Peru. She received her Medical Degree at San Marcos University in Lima, Perú. She is married with adult children. Mrs. Plimpton graduated with a Master’s Degree in Theology - Pastoral Ministries from Santa Clara University in 2018. She has been teaching Theology at Catholic High School in Dixon. Mrs. Plimpton is currently working to obtain her CPE certification at UC Davis Medical Center.

Chaplain Darren Paulson

Chaplain Darren Paulson

Darren Paulson earned his M.Div. at Beeson Divinity School (Samford University) in Birmingham, AL in 2007. He spent the next 12 years as the preaching/teaching pastor. He has a 6-year-old son, Jaxon, who he spends most of his time with, and enjoys reading, sports, and spending time outdoors.

He is tremendously excited to serve the patients and staff at UC Davis Med Center, striving to model the grace God has blessed him with.


Chaplain Staci Tye

Chaplain Staci Tye

CPE Residency program during January 2023-August 2023

Staci Tye holds a M.A. in the Humanities and is a community college instructor of the Humanities. While working as a hospice caregiver, Staci witnessed the emergence of something deep and meaningful in the experience of death and dying. As a result, Staci developed a desire to work as a chaplain and spiritual care specialist at UC Davis Health to those in hospice and crisis situations. Staci’s faith is spiritually inclined with great reverence and respect for the essence of all religions.
