Research Interests:
Pain management, burns, fluids, antimicrobial dosing in critically ill, toxicology, fungal infections.

Practice Philosophy:
My goal is to create individualized therapy plans for every patient and to constantly re-evaluate and adapt that therapy plan throughout the patient’s hospital course. ICU patients are highly complex and ever-changing. Attention to detail and anticipation of problems is extremely important and can help to streamline productivity and promote safety for all ICU patients.

Burn ICU, Neuro ICU, Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, Critical Care Triage (PGY1 and PGY2)

Bio:
Dr. Sierra Young is pharmacist at UC Davis Health. Dr. Young began her pharmacy career at UCDH in 2017 after graduating from pharmacy school. At UCSF School of Pharmacy, she was nominated for the Bowel of Hygeia Award. She went on to complete a PGY1 Acute Care Focused Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Critical Care Residency at UCDH. During her PGY2 residency, she pursed her passion for research and received the best in category award during a poster presentation at the American Burn Association’s national meeting. She also received the most impactful presentation award at the annual UC Pharmacy Collaborative research conference in 2019.

Following completion of her Critical Care PGY2 she accepted a position with UCDH, focusing on Critical Care within the Burn ICU. Dr Young  is a board-certified critical care pharmacist who actively contributes to patient care daily during rounds and through committee work and research.
