Ronald McDonald House Northern California has donated a new caring cart to UC Davis Children’s Hospital.
The cart makes the rounds each week to the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), pediatrics unit and the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), delivering complimentary beverages and snacks for UC Davis Children’s Hospital patient families.
The Child Life and Creative Arts Therapy Department at UC Davis Children’s Hospital oversees the caring cart program while volunteers staff the cart. Food and Nutrition Services assist with cart storage, as well as providing food handling and cleaning training for volunteers.
The Caring Cart program has served more than 1,200 parents and children in 2018.
