Members of the Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus (SGMC) will volunteer their time and talents at a holiday concert on Monday, Dec. 10 at 4 p.m. in the North Building lobby of the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center. The performance is part of the organization’s “Project Healing Voices” established to reduce the suffering of patients within Sacramento through song. All UC Davis employees, students and patients are welcome to attend the hour-long performance.

SGMC member Andrew Yeung founded Project Healing Voices in memory of his mother, Helen Yeung.

“The power of singing with the chorus gave me the strength to provide the best care for my terminally-ill mother,” Yeung said. “Seeing the chorus perform also brought her a momentary reprieve from her discomfort and pain.”

SGMC, founded in 1984, is a community-based choral group dedicated to fostering pride and enhancing lives of the community, one song at a time.
