Register today for 12th annual ovarian cancer 5K run/walk on Sept. 15

(SACRAMENTO)

Organized by the Ovarian Cancer Education & Research Network, Inc. (OCERN), the 12th annual Let’s ROC! 5K Run/Walk for Ovarian Cancer will be held Sunday, Sept. 15. The event, co-sponsored by UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, begins at 8 a.m. at 45th and X Streets in Sacramento.

Early bird registration ends Aug. 25! Early bird registration ends Aug. 25!

Over the past 11 years, OCERN – through the help and support of the Sacramento community – has awarded more than $100,000 in grants to UC Davis Health researchers and other investigators. A highlight of the event is the announcement of the recipient of this year’s OCERN research award.

"The generous grant from OCERN made a huge impact on our research so far," said UC Davis biomedical engineer Randy Carney, last year's recipient.

Community members are encouraged to register for the event, which raises funds for ovarian cancer education and research during Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. The day also includes a half-mile fun run for kids, a post-race pancake breakfast, music, and other family-friendly activities.
