Philosophy of Care
Most patients fell anxious when they are about to have surgery. Dr.Schloemerkemper tries to alleviate this by strengthening the patient-doctor-relationship and taking patients' concerns seriously. She is believes that kindness and honesty are vital.
Clinical Interests
Nina Schloemerkemper joined UCDMC in September 2010. She is the Clinical Director of Obstetric Anesthesia since July 2022.
Research/Academic Interests
Originally from Germany, Nina Schloemerkemper earned her medical degree in 2001 at the University of Luebeck, Germany. She then went on to complete doctoral studies at the same University before starting her anesthesia training at the University of Kiel, Germany. She completed her training while rotating through several hospitals within London, UK including St. George’s Hospital. She became a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) in 2006 and board certified in Germany in 2008.
