Philosophy of Care

Dr. Kale practices compassionate care, forming a relationship with the whole family and including them in treatment and care decisions. She believes in the collaborating with other specialties when taking care of complex patients.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Kale is well versed in the diagnosis and treatment of common and uncommon conditions affecting the kidneys and urinary tract in children, including children with kidney failure who require dialysis or transplantation. She has extensive experience in the treatment of pediatric kidney disorders and actively participates in the teaching mission of the department with lectures, small group discussions both at the bedside and under formal settings for medical students, residents and ancillary staff.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Kale is currently evaluating a new blood test which may give information about kidney transplant rejection that is usually diagnosed by a biopsy. With information from this study, we may be able to avoid biopsies at least in some patients.
