Succulent Planting

Learn how to successfully plant your own succulent. All supplies (plant, pot and soil) provided for pick up! Registration required, limited number of tickets available. We will be playing a few fun games during the class. There will be prizes!

UC Davis Health was recognized for its environmental excellence by Practice Greenhealth, a nonprofit organization founded on the principles of positive environmental stewardship and best practices in the health care community. The specific accolades included:

• The Emerald Award for outstanding hospitals focused on advanced sustainability programs.
• The Greening the OR Recognition Award, which recognizes hospitals that have made substantial strides in improving environmental performance in the operating room. 
• Two Circles of Excellence Awards for Climate and Green Building: The Climate Circle highlights visionary hospitals taking the lead on tracking and measurement of CO2 emissions, and overall climate program development, while the Green Building Circle is presented to hospitals that have demonstrated LEED and other innovative green building achievements over the past five years. 

Congratulations to all the teams involved in these tremendous efforts!

A New Standard: Drought-tolerant Landscaping

Xeriscaping at Hospital entranceOur response to the drought is well-illustrated by the new look of the Ellipse and surrounds at the hospital entrance.  Grass was replaced with a combination of artificial turf and drought-tolerant plants.  The new plants should really pop by Spring.
