Philosophy of Care

Dr. Fernando believes in making her patients her highest priority. She makes sure that she is researching the latest techniques, and makes sure to understand her patients as people, and not simply a case number. Dr. Fernando believes heavily in person to person interaction and listens in depth to what her patients and her colleagues have to offer. 

Clinical Interests

Dr. Fernando has decades of experience in therapeutic apheresis. Dr. Fernando began the photopheresis program at UC Davis Medical Center that has grown and attracts specialty referrals from around the state. Dr. Fernando also is an attending in Transfusion services. She also consults with the Blood bank and mentors junior faculty. 

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Fernando assists in researching the outcomes for the different therapies that she is involved in, keeping her up to date on new techniques, and offering her experience and expertise of the field.
