Philosophy of Care

I am committed to providing the best possible care for my patients through a genuine partnership with my patients and their families. I strive to provide for you the information you need to make informed decisions regarding your care. I know how important your vision is to you, and we will work together help maintain your eye health. Ultimately, I am here to help you to the best of my ability, to work with you to meet your needs, and to walk with you every step of the way.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Li is an ophthalmologist who specializes in diseases of the cornea and anterior segment and is the current director of the Cornea and External Disease Service at UC Davis. In addition to cataract and refractive surgery, she has a special interest in corneal transplantation and anterior segment reconstruction procedures (e.g. intraocular lens exchange, secondary intraocular lens surgery, iris repair). She is considered an expert in the field of newer selective corneal transplantation techniques such as endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK, DMEK, DSO) and deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK).

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Li is nationally and internationally renown for her work in eye banking and corneal transplantation. She is the current Chair of the Medical Advisory Board of the Eye Bank Association of America and the Chair-Elect for the organization. She is the recipient of the 2021 R. Townley Paton Award, the Eye Bank Association of America's highest honor for corneal physicians given in recognition of their outstanding contributions to eye banking. Additionally, Dr. Li is known as an educator and is actively involved in resident and fellow education both at a UC Davis and on a national level.
