Dr. Dave is an effective listener and a committed physician. He believes in understanding individual needs of a patient and provides holistic care to them. His practice includes collaboration with pathologists, radiologists, colorectal surgeons, dieticians, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure long-term well-being of his patients.
Dr. Dave is a seasoned Gastroenterologist with expertise in Endoscopic procedures and Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) - Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. He uses latest advances and novel therapeutics in regenerative medicine, radiology, genetics, diet, and microbiome, to provide a personalized precision medicine approach to his IBD patients.
Dr. Dave's research interests are in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). His extensive research providing innovative ideas to IBD pathogenesis and treatment, has been supported by many prestigious institutions such as National Institute of Health, Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs funded by Department of Defense, Tri-Institutional (UCSF, UC Berkley, and UC Davis) Partnerships in Microbiome Research, and UC Davis Institute for Regenerative Cures. His work has been published in notable journals such as Gut, Gastroenterology, American Journal of Gastroenterology, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Dr. Dave's laboratory research program at UC Davis focuses on regenerative medicine, microbiome studies, clinical trials, and developing next-generation tools that can predict/assess response to IBD therapies. He has assembled a team of highly accomplished and senior scientific researchers, and collaborators to advance his IBD related projects.
