Clinical Interests
Elena Goncharova is a Professor of Medicine at the University of California Davis School of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree from Moscow State University, PhD from Russian Academy of Science, and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She has been a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania and Associate Professor of Medicine and Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
Research/Academic Interests
Dr. Goncharova has a long standing interest in basic and translational pulmonary vascular research and she serves as a Director of Pulmonary Vascular Disease Program. Dr. Goncharova’s research interests has focused on molecular and cellular mechanisms of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) with specific focus on the role mTOR, HIPPO and GATA6 signaling networks and cancer-like smooth muscle remodeling in PAH as well as on identifying novel molecular targets to reverse established pulmonary vascular disease.
