American College of Gastroenterology honors UC Davis Health physicians

(SACRAMENTO)

Four UC Davis Health physicians from the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology were among the leaders in the field of clinical gastroenterology recognized this month by the American College of Gastroenterology.

Those selected were chosen for their significant and lasting contributions to the profession of gastroenterology, as well as contributions to the quality of patient care that is available to people with various GI conditions.

  • Ronald Hsu, clinical professor of gastroenterology, received the prestigious American College of Gastroenterology Community Service Award.
  • Gastrointestinal Fellows Sean Nguyen, Christine Shieh, Alex Zhornitskiy and Hsu won one of the 16 Service Awards for Colorectal Cancer Outreach, Prevention and Year-Round Excellence (SCOPY).
  • Nguyen was also awarded the Outstanding Poster Presenter.

Each of the recipients received their awards during the American College of Gastroenterology’s Annual Scientific Meeting in Vancouver, Canada.
