Karen has worked for UC Davis on and off for 20 years. She has been a pediatric nurse for 35 years and graduated as an acute care nurse practitioner 5 years ago. Karen has been involved in palliative care her whole career and is now privileged to specialize in helping patients and family improve their quality of life where possible. She works with a palliative care team that assists in aligning goals of care for pediatric patients across the children's hospital at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, as well as supporting our multidisciplinary team of providers at the bedside.

She enjoys hiking, kayaking, jigsaw puzzles, dancing, as well as spending time with friends, family and her animals.
