I was hospitalized with covid pneumonia in March 2020. 9 months later I was dealing with ongoing health issues. I traveled to the Eureka area for my birthday in 2021 when I took this photo. I was at the beach listening to a pulmonary rehab podcast and performing my breathing exercises. The timing of this photo mirrors where I was in my journey of recovery - reflecting on my recent health changes while appreciating my current situation.”—Julie Amaro
