An Innovative Approach
The UC Davis Cancer Care Network (CCN) began in 1999, when UC Davis Health was invited by two California communities, Marysville and Merced, to partner in the development of localized cancer centers. In 2000, both the Rideout Cancer Center in Marysville and the Mercy UC Davis Cancer Center in Merced opened as affiliates of the CCN. From these initial affiliations, the CCN has grown and established additional partnerships in Northern California: the Gene Upshaw Memorial Cancer Center in Truckee, Barton Oncology in South Lake Tahoe, and the Marshall Cancer Center in Cameron Park.
Over the years, comprehensive network services evolved to include access to clinical trials, virtual tumor boards, nursing education, and the highest quality oncology care.
Affiliates: United by Collaboration
The UC Davis Cancer Care Network is a unique partnership among cancer centers around Northern and Central California where we work together to offer patients world-class, leading-edge oncology care close to home. Hospital-based community cancer centers become affiliates of the UC Davis Cancer Care Network through an evaluation process led by UC Davis. By synergizing the strengths of an academic health system with local, community-based care, the network formalizes the commitment to collaboration with community providers by promoting the delivery of advanced, quality care across the region.
